This photo shows the process someone taking vacation photos, which started at the dawn of photography, around 1830, up until the current mobile phone, Instagram and Hipstamatic era. Apparently there are still people using the technique of hauling out “view cameras” with sheets of “film.” There are still some people who are using “wet plates” for their vacation snaps.
